Saturday Faith Formation Class: Returns April 27th
We’ve begun this spring segment using a presentation by Walter Bouman called “Why the Church Year?” Dr. Bouman was Professor at Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio and had experience in multiple disciplines. The presentation will be in the form of 10 brief reflections that address the story, theological meaning and importance of each of the seasons. The class would not be the same if we did not provide an opportunity to explore, through your questions and comments, what you’ve encountered from the video. I believe you will gain new insight about the church seasons and about worship from what you see and hear. Looking forward to seeing you!

Food Bank
FOOD BANK CLOSED INDEFINITELY
Faith Lutheran has provided food for people in need for several years. Eileen Way has lead Food Pantry volunteers who helped pick up food, bag it and have it ready for pickup every week. Over the years food has been received from Food Bank of Northern Nevada and Catholic Charities.
This past year illness has caused the reevaluation for our pantry. Eileen is no longer able to manage the pantry. After much discussion and prayer, the church council has decided to close the pantry indefinitely.
If anyone is interested in managing the program at a later date, please contact a council member. Someone would need to be willing to oversee the project, see that paperwork is done, make arrangements for food pickup, keep everything in order and lead volunteers. It could be renegotiated to be done monthly, rather than weekly, and any day of the week is workable.
Thank you, Eileen, for all your work keeping the pantry open. You have done a great job serving others and your work has been appreciated by many! Thank you also to all your volunteers.

Since Faith Lutheran is blessed with so many delicious treats and dishes for potlucks or refreshments at church, the Fellowship committee would love to publish a cookbook which contains your tasty and delightful recipes. We are asking congregants to participate by providing recipes for your favorite dishes & desserts so a special Faith Lutheran Church cookbook can be prepared. Please submit your recipes to Amy Zimmerman via the email below. If you wish to include a little ‘back story’ with your recipe, ex., “This dish was often served by the Ladies Aid at my Lutheran Church in northern Minnesota when I was a kid…” that would be fun, too. We would like your recipes by April 30, 2024. Contact Amy Amy’s Email if you have additional questions.
